Hours:
By appointment. Meetings between paired companions occur weekly at mutually agreed times.
Sauk Prairie Kids Companion is a local nonprofit that pairs children ages 6–16 with caring adult volunteers for one-to-one companionship and support.
Founded in 1990, our program creates meaningful friendships that often last for years — sometimes decades. Just one consistent hour a week can help a child build confidence, feel seen, and know they matter.
Our volunteers enhance the incredible work of parents by providing an additional layer of support – not to replace or interfere but to be a positive presence. Whether it’s through listening, mentoring, or sharing in simple joys, the most valuable gift is time.
Many of the children in our program may be shy, navigating challenges, or simply in need of another trusted adult in their corner. In return, volunteers often say their weekly time becomes the highlight of their week.
We are proud to be supported by Sauk Prairie United Way and other local partners who believe in strengthening our community through connection.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back locally, we’d love to connect.
